Event Description

The aim of the Summer Program of the CWWPP is to give the participant an impression of the reality of a post-conflict area and to assist in refining his/her academic skills.
Participation in one of the Summer Programs is not onlyan investment in knowledge; our program inspires you to adopt skills and values.

Course selection
You may select from one of the programs below.

The 4-Week Program
The Intensive Summer Program/Internship comprises a series of seminars and forums given by local politicians, religious leaders, economists, physicians, workers in non-governmental organizations and workers in international organizations. These provide a platform for discussion of a wide range of subjects using the situation of Vukovar and surroundings as an illustration of post-conflict conditions in general.
The participant will be encouraged to think about these situations creatively and to form his/her own opinions about them.

Dates Course Contribution
28 June-26 July, 2009 € 2500*

Project period
The CWWPP also offers an optional four-week period during which participants will be assisted in carrying out a short research project. The participant will be required to complete a 7500 word paper and give a seminar on the research topic.

Dates Course Contribution
27 July- 22 Aug, 2009 € 700*

The 2-Week Program
This program offers students insights into the post war cultural landscape in Vukovar, and looks at their importance for community building in the context of European integration, 14 years after the end of the 1991-1995 war. The focus is on culture and identity and on conservation and interpretation of cultural heritage. The program, which is much less demanding than the 4-week intensive internship, offers the opportunity to study various aspects of culture and society through community activities. The approach is one of active engagement. It allows the student to interact with peers in host families.

Dates Course Contribution
29 June-12 July, 2009 € 800*
The course contribution, which is tax-deductible, includes Internet use, the use of office equipment and printing and copying, housing, celebrations and lunches for the intensive period of the courses.
