Search for Common Ground's (SFCG) mission is to transform the way people deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. SFCG was founded in 1982 and is endowed with headquarters in Washington, DC and Brussels. We design and implement multifaceted programs that aim to promote dialogue, transform conflict and promote moderation. We seek to help conflicting parties understand their differences and act on their commonalties. We have field offices in 19 countries around the world and count close to 400 staff.
Since 2001, Search for Common Ground in Morocco has worked with Moroccan society to transform the way in which individuals and institutions resolve conflicts and to help develop a culture of mediation in Morocco. In order to reduce the risks and costs of disputes, Search for Common Ground in Morocco works towards:
1. Enhancing the capacity of individuals and institutions to resolve conflicts cooperatively;
2. Developing a culture of dialogue by bringing together key actors, including civil society, government, and media professionals;
The program has an office in Rabat, Morocco (9 staff, 1 intern, and 1 visiting scholar in Rabat, 1 staff in Casablanca; 1 staff in Tetouan, 1 staff in Fez). Support is provided from headquarters in Washington, DC and Brussels.

Summary of Position
The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at SFCG in Morocco will be primarily responsible for coordinating the research, design, monitoring and evaluation of SFCG projects conducted in Morocco. S/he will report to the SFCG Morocco Country Director and liaise on a daily basis with the different heads of projects. The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) unit at SFCG in Washington manages and provides specific monitoring and evaluation support of all SFCG country programs.
Responsibilities and Duties for this position includes but is not limited to:
Provide timely, quality support and coaching to the different project leaders to meet their specific DM&E needs;
Conduct baseline research and follow up evaluations of projects based on existing indicators;
Coordinate and manage external evaluation contracts and teams;
Maintain a database to ensure all program outputs and results are accurately recorded and coordinated to inform program staffs;
Provide monthly and quarterly reports on all activities, outputs and relevant outcome indicators;
Meet regularly with SFCG Morocco staff to review progress of projects against project objectives, indicators and deliverables;
Participate in and contribute towards internal evaluation processes;
Work with the DM&E Specialist based in Washington, DC to provide support and guidance to the different projects in the development and implementation of their M&E workplans;
Be directly engaged in the continuing development of the organisation, its mission and its staff, through the sharing of experience and knowledge; and
Do all other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years applied experience in research and DM&E in conflict or development programs.
Minimum Bachelor’s level degree in conflict resolution, international relations, a related social science field or statistics.
Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills.
Strong methodological background, DME systems experience and the technical capacity to provide support and guidance to project staff on design, monitoring and evaluation.
Knowledge of logical and results frameworks, evaluation design and methodologies, indicator development, and the ability to coach and train others in their use.
High level of leadership skills; the candidate should be a self starter and should have initiative.
Excellent command of English, French, and Arabic (written & oral).
Excellent writing ability.
High standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality.
Must enjoy working independently, as well as in a team environment.
Ability to travel to working districts if necessary.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fluid environment.
Detail oriented and highly organised.
Ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of SPSS, Excel, Access and other database programs, proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, web browsers.
Desired Qualifications:
2 years operational experience in peacebuilding /conflict resolution
Participatory design, monitoring and evaluation experience
Knowledge of the use of behavioural change communications and media
Experience of evaluation of behaviour change communications programmes
Masters Degree in related field
