ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
The Blue Mountain Project is a 501©3 non-profit, non-governmental organization incorporated in the United Stated and registered in Jamaica. A grassroots organization, we have been helping rural Jamaican communities since 2004. By working directly with the communities we serve, we identify key areas of needed development and help facilitate sustainable solutions. The Blue Mountain Project is dedicated to partnering with the people of the Hagley Gap District of Jamaica to improve health, education and the economy. We are looking for a person who is interested in growing the project.
BMP is governed by an international Board of Directors and staffed by a small team of international employees and full-time volunteers. Further information is available on our website, www.bluemountainproject.org

JOB TITLE: Executive Director LOCATION: United States
SALARY: commensurate with experience DEADLINE: August 15, 2009
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
➢ Administration: supervise staff and day-to-day operations, prepare annual budget along with the bookkeeper, monitor budget, and maintain relationships with Jamaican institutions as needed.
➢ Fund raising: along with the Board of Directors develop a comprehensive fund raising plan, manage and organize donor lists, research and write grants.
➢ Program: Maintain and develop programs as needed.
➢ Board Relations: regularly report to and communicate with the Board, cultivate new Board members.
➢ Travel: Visit Hagley Gap communities 2 to 4 times per year.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
➢ Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
➢ 3 to 5 years working with non-profits
➢ Excellent communication skills
➢ Good computer skills
➢ Ability to work with diverse populations
➢ Comfortable with grant writing and other fund raising activities
➢ Familiarity with and interest in Jamaican culture and other developing countries
