Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a nonpartisan unarmed peacekeeping force composed of trained civilians from around the world. In partnership with local groups, Nonviolent Peaceforce members apply proven nonviolent strategies to protect human rights, deter violence, and help create space for local peacemakers to carry out their work.

1. Human Resource Manager
2. Security and Safety Coordinator

Nonviolent Peaceforce Philippines invites applications for the position of a Human Resource Manager and a Security and Safety Coordinator - both positions will be based in Cotabato City, Mindanao.

Brief summary:

1. Human Resource Manager
The Human Resource Manager (HRM) reports directly to the Country Director. The HRM is responsible for the management of approximately 50 international and national staff working for NP in Mindanao.
The successful candidate would have a professional background in human resource management and several years of work experience. Excellent knowledge of English is needed, as well as willingness to work in a conflict zone.
The salary offered is, depending on experience, PHP 35,000 – 40,000 per month plus health insurance, and for national staff a 13th month salary and social security benefits. Internationals receive an additional off-shore component of EURO 825 per month plus other benefits.
The initial contract will be for 2 years with a 3 month probationary period.
The deadline for applications for this position is the 21st of March 2009.

2. Security and Safety Coordinator
The Security and Safety Coordinator (SSC) reports directly to the Country Director. The position of SSC with NP-P is a management position with its main focus on secure and safe operations and practices in the field and timely analysis of early warning indicators.
The successful candidate would have a good knowledge of security and safety procedures in general, a firm grasp of approaches appropriate for a NGO whose operations are based on the principles of nonviolent conflict transformation, and of the political situation and the different actors in the Philippines.
The position requires extensive travel (at least 50% of the time) throughout Mindanao.
The salary offered is, depending on experience, PHP 31,000 – 35,000 per month plus health insurance, and for national staff a 13th month salary and social security benefits. Internationals receive an additional off-shore component of EURO 825 per month plus other benefits.
The initial contract will be for 2 years with a 3 month probationary period.
The position is open until filled.
