I'm pleased to inform you that I've been qualified for a master in Laws(LLM) in Huamn Rights and Democratisation in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria (www.chr.up.ac.za).
The only problem I'm facing is that due to financial constraints, I'm unable afford costs required by my attendance to the programme and that are not covered by the centre. Those are mainly: a one year return ticket from my country to South Africa, the price of a laptop computer required as an essential tool and a montly supplement to cover basic living costs at university of pretoria and at a partner university.
I would be very grateful if there was any way I could get any help.
Best
Thankyou for writing. It seems we do have some common interests and beliefs. Im don't have alot of experience in Conflict Resolution, or Peace Building but I it is the direction that I am going. I did do some work experience with a local Peace Building N.G.O in Puebla Mexico. We did some Peace/Conflict workshops with local youths, it was some interesting stuff.
Anyway you may have already heard of him, but John Paul Lederach has some interesting ideas about conflict transformation. Might be of interest.
Good Luck and stay in touch.
Eliza.
its a pity :) but its ok, hope you are doing well. I have to go back to Uzbekistan in august, so it is not possible for me to travel to Amsterdam :((
How are you doing these months? How is your thesis?
cheers,
i have just returned from a month long course called CONTACT...conflict transformation across cultures at SIT Vermont under world learning institute. travelled to chicago, university of wisconsin and NY for tying up some social welfare projects for NE India as a volunteer work. also just obtained my premature retirement from army after 23 yrs service wef 05 july. currently settling down in north indian city of Dehradun (nestled in lower Himalayas) some 300 km north of Delhi....we may stay in touch sure.
I first of all congratulate you. I like your page. It is really interesting. I am very happy to meet a legal researcher like you because like you, I am a legal student. But I would like to beg you to help me. If you see my profile you will realise that I am a PhD student from Cameroon and that we have aproximatively the same objectives. But now I don't have means to persue my studies and would like to come to USA where I am sure I will have more opportunities to express myself and find a job to fund my studies.
What you can do for me is to accomodate me and fund my travel expenses. Togheter in your country, we would be able to plan projects and to help each other.
I look forward to hear from you very soon.
Thanks for your message.
