Profile Information

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
My field is really in development communication and I have worked in several non profits as coordinating staff and as volunteer but my deepest interest is in community based art. As an artist, I usually temp jobs to get me across and one temp job I did was to document a Peace Journalism Course under Galtung scholars Jake Lynch and Annabel McGoldrick. I also coordinated a project for the Peacemakers' Circle in their Moral Imagination forum in 2008.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I work in the field of creative communication for development through community based art. Prior to this artistic advocacy, I have done environmental education and art education through employed and volunteer work with Ayala Museum’s Education program, Center for Environmental Awareness and Education, and Mother Earth Foundation. I facilitate Inner Ecology, Ecological Waste Management, and Environmental Education workshops. I have volunteered as an art teacher at the Learning Links Center and as Storyteller for Museo Pambata and the Children’s Library. I am currently wrapping up a community art project on Teaching Ecological Consciousness through community based Art under the UNEP Eco Peace Leadership Center.

I practice the principles of Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism (Vaisnava), Kriya Yoga, Confucianism, Islam, and Native Spirituality. I am currently pursuing peace advocacy and education through work with the Peacemakers’ Circle and the Sowing Peace for Mindanao Network and incoming as Regional Programs Coordinator for the United Religions Initiative for the South East Asia and Pacific Region in 2009.

I organized Imagine Echo Projects, a community‐based program that teaches eco peace consciousness and education through art.

My artistic practice involves painting, visual journaling, eco arts and
crafts, earth based arts, collaborative sculptures, installations, mobiles, graphic design, and singing.

I have an upcoming interfaith dialogue and peace consciousness community art project using sacred art forms of Asia in collaboration with local and regional artists. This will be based on Ken Wilber's Integral Framework in collaboration with interfaith and integral artists. This is in partnership with the Peacemakers' Circle, Inc. and Binhi ng Kapayapaan Inc.
