Dear Laxmi,
I hope you can help me. I am writing a case study about UN work in Nepal (particulalry human rights monitoring and food aid). Could I trouble your thoughts (and any experience) on this. Has UN support helped? What would happen without it in Nepal? I can get data from UN factsheets, but I am really interested in personal quotes from people actually living in Nepal. I hope you can help.
Best wishes
Caroline

Profile Information

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Conflict management is the most important element of Nepal. Above 40 percent women are engaged in Maoist insurgency with heavy arms and more than more women are affected by the conflict. Maoist insurgency has brought more crises due to high women participation in the conflict. But in other side very few women are engaged in conflict management. There was not any woman in High Peace Commission. Any countries can not succeed in conflict management and peace building without strong participation of women and men. I want to increase participation of women in peace building through training and advocacy program. Development is possible when there is peace in the country that ultimately leads to poverty eradication.
