Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I am passionate about epidemiology and the quick response to contain viral and bacterial disease outbreaks. War and conflict absorb financial and personnel resources from sanitary and medical infrastructure. When these resources are used to assist in war efforts, the entire population is vulnerable to the ill-effects of neglected infrastructure. Without peace a nation and its people cannot benefit from the available medical and sanitary resources which prevent outbreaks of disease.

In order to truly achieve global health and nutrition, conflict must be averted and peace attained.

I am also passionate about Women's Rights.

I am here to learn from others who have experience in conflict resolution.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I have a B.A. in Communications-Journalism. I stayed at home to raise my children for four years and recently re-entered the workforce in a support role for a university Women's Center. I am a longtime Human Rights activist, but would like to transition my passion for Human Rights into a career. I plan to return to University as a student to pursue further education which I will use to work in Humanitarian/Human Rights. At this juncture I am trying to determine which direction I would like to take my education. I am passionate about medical care for citizens in conflict zones.
