Evans Gyampoh has been the project manager of UNDP Ghana’s civil society capacity development project since November 2006. The project seeks to strengthen the civil society sector in Ghana through the development of appropriate legislation to govern CSOs and the improvement of the structural deficiencies within the sector.

Evans Gyampoh is thoroughly a 'civil society person', having worked, prior to joining UNDP Ghana, with the Institute of Economic Affairs, a public policy think tank based in Accra and the Ghana Association of Private Voluntary Organisations in Development (GAPVOD) the umbrella organisation for NGOs in Ghana.

Evans was part of the team that worked on the CIVICUS civil society index project in Ghana.

His focus and interest is in grassroots activism, ownership and participation in policy processes through capacity development.
