Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I am a traveller at heart. I love meeting people of different cultures and I love coming into close contact with a different civilisation to my own. I have traveled to two places so far that have stolen my heart and that have had problems of civil and political violence - Nepal and Kenya. When I see such things occuring in places I myself have been, I get the urge to leave my life behind and dedicate myself to aiding the resolution processes. So far I have not 'left' my life behind for more than a few months at a go but overall, I try to keep myself informed and active in contributing what i can from the place I'm in - and a great part of that is learning more about peace and conflict resolution.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I was born in a small island in the Mediterranean called Malta.
I have studied Psychology (as a first degree) and Human Rights (at masters level). I am highky interested in both and wish to combine them as I further my studies and in my work. I have travelled and worked in Egypt, Nepal, India and Kenya on various voluntary work projects.
What is your current country of residence?
Malta
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
Tutor with autistic teenagers but will soon go on to study Psychology at doctorat level.
Which are your primary sectoral areas of expertise?
Education, Psychosocial
