Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
My first hand experience working in several violent conflict situations across India (Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Manipur) and in some other countries (srilanka, Sierra Leone) as a military man deepened my understanding of various facets of conflict and peace. I now plan working full time in conflict transformation and peace building across the world.

Hi, Malik

It's so nice to recieve the invitation to be part of your network! I love your country - I've been in Mumbai during the World Social Forum and I'm going to Hyderabad in December, to the Internet Governance Forum. At this moment, most of my work is focused in Internet Governance and human rights, and I'm starting a research on privacy. I hope we have a lot to share.
All the best,
Graciela

Hi Malik- nice to meet you. I also love to travel and to get to know people and learn about their cultures and beliefs. What I have found in general is that people have far more in common with each other than they have that is disparate. I have not yet visited india though my middle son has spent some time there both working and travelling.
do keep in touch

best wishes

Davida

Dear Malik,
nice to meet you!

A trip to India is indeed among one of my future plans. One of my best friends live in Bangalore. I agree that travelling and getting to know local people is an important step to understand and respect cultures. And, also, a way to achieve mutual understanding and peace. I am a member of Servas (www.servas.org), a network of international travellers that has much to do with what we are talking about here.
Let´s keep in touch!

All the best,
Ana

Hello Mr. Malik!!! You have got a very interesting bio and the fact that you were serving in the North East makes it all the more interesting. :) Has the final confirmation come in for the MA? Congratulations!! I have heard its a very intensive course. All the best for it. Would like to know a bit about the PG Diploma in International Humanitarian Law. I will be relocating to Hyderabad by the end of this year. How is the course in general and is it worth it? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,
Triveni
