Profile

What motivated you to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Part of my motivation is the realization of how the U.S. government has recently debilitated our standing internationally and the present and future need to repair our reputation worldwide. Another is that I prefer to work to bring people together rather than use my legal education to doggedly represent a client whether right or wrong. Finally, mending relationships and increasing benefit to all are tasks for which I have a talent. I hope to find avenues through this site to utilize those talents.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself (no more than 3 paragraphs)
I have moved all over the United States and have lived in Germany. Moving has taught me that although there are many cultural and societal differences, there are significant substantive similarities between the individuals inhabiting our world. The similarities of all people far outnumber the differences.

I've worked in the fields of entertainment, advertising, and marketing, learning how to focus peoples attention and conception for a purpose. Quickly, the purpose of selling "things" became uncomfortable. This led to my matriculation into law school and a new approach of how my talents should be molded into a form more beneficial for those around me.

Through the law one discovers methods by which people may deal with large problems involving great complexity. Law is simultaneously a key, opening doors; the variables, by which one may effectuate change, and a compass, by which we can navigate potentially combative territory. My goal is to use legal theory and practice, mediative rationality, and the rule of reason to refocus contentious problems into usable, beneficial solutions for all those concerned.

UNITED NATIONS RESPONSIBILITY TO THIRD PARTIES: INTRODUCTION

I. THE MIRROR OF LEGAL PERSONALITY, POWER TO DUTY: A CALL TO REASON Despite years of debate, strong speeches and pleas to the international community, the fundamental question still remains; can the United Nations be held responsible to third parties injured in the Rwandan genocide for its actions or its failure to act? I say absolutely, yes. It can and it must. I say the United Nations has a duty to stand to threats of mass violence to the God given right of life of the peoples of the w… Continue

Hey,
Thankyou for writing. It seems we do have some common interests and beliefs. Im don't have alot of experience in Conflict Resolution, or Peace Building but I it is the direction that I am going. I did do some work experience with a local Peace Building N.G.O in Puebla Mexico. We did some Peace/Conflict workshops with local youths, it was some interesting stuff.

Anyway you may have already heard of him, but John Paul Lederach has some interesting ideas about conflict transformation. Might be of interest.
Good Luck and stay in touch.
Eliza.

Hi Chris,
I first of all congratulate you. I like your page. It is really interesting. I am very happy to meet a legal researcher like you because like you, I am a legal student. But I would like to beg you to help me. If you see my profile you will realise that I am a PhD student from Cameroon and that we have aproximatively the same objectives. But now I don't have means to persue my studies and would like to come to USA where I am sure I will have more opportunities to express myself and find a job to fund my studies.
What you can do for me is to accomodate me and fund my travel expenses. Togheter in your country, we would be able to plan projects and to help each other.

I look forward to hear from you very soon.

i! Chris,

Many thanks for the communication!

I am organizing a "planning workshop" of around 60 organizations from the coastal district of Bangladesh on July 10. We gonna declare "Climate Defenders Alliance Bangladesh (CDAB)". Some Donors and eminent people of Bangladesh will be there. The event will be broadcast by major TV channels. News will be published by local, national, and international news media.

The conflict on climate issues between countries are so obvious that, this is the time to do something. If you are available and financially capable, then visit and join the campaign.

I have many ideas and activities. And I want to do things in interesting way with lots of fun. You are most welcome to join in whatever ways possible.

You can read some of my articles at http://developmenthumanrights.wordpress.com/

I have many ideas to work in the areas of peace, development, and human rights. I can share with you later. If you are interested to do something in Bangkok, I can help you in many different ways.

And off course, my philosophy is "avoid boring people's network and join interesting people's network who believe in one spirit - one world of human values and kindness".

thanking you once again for visiting me.

They are all very interesting to me. Where are you located? What type of specific work have you done on the topics noted? I am a principal in a consulting company and am always seeking new and interesting consulting projects.

Dear Chris,
I will be in Jerusalem in June for the event the "Big hug" and in the month July I will be on holidays in Portugal. So nothing really happens with me in Amsterdam during the summer holidays.
In August 14-16 there will be the annual festival in the artist village Ruigoord nearby Amsterdam (like 'Burning Man' in the USA). See: www.ruigoord.nl for more information.

Best regards;

Rob Schrama
